Past Accomplishments of CJR:

•     March on 79th street for Justice and Respect on December 31, 2007 to mark a year of the since the    hate motivated Anti- Gay shootings at a Gay House Party in the Grand Crossing area.

•     Regular Meetings.

•     March on Halsted street against racism in the Lesbian and Gay Community. 

•     Accountability Session for candidates for Cook County State’s Attorney.

•     Issued position statement Same Gender Loving Marriage and Domestic Partner.  

•     Co-Sponsored with Affinity a Social Justice Conference. 

•     Conducted five Eye to Eye Empowerment Sessions for Black Men.

•     Advocated for victims of Anti Gay Hate Crimes.

•     Participated in the Governor’s Summer Job Youth Program over 80 LGBTQA youth between ages of 13- 22 years of age.

•     Organizing of Critical Caucus.

•     Civic Responsibility registered over 200 new voters.

•     Cultural Matters Noah’s Arc Chicago Premier and Reeling International LGBT Film Festival.

•     Developed public education program in the African-American Black communities regarding Same Gender Loving Domestic Partnership and Gay Marriage legislation in Illinois.

•     Participated in the local demonstration against Proposition 8.
