Past Accomplishments of CJR:

 

     March on 79th street for Justice and Respect on December 31, 2007 to mark a year of the since the    hate motivated Anti- Gay shootings at a Gay House Party in the Grand Crossing area.

     Regular Meetings.

     March on Halsted street against racism in the Lesbian and Gay Community. 

     Accountability Session for candidates for Cook County State’s Attorney.

     Issued position statement Same Gender Loving Marriage and Domestic Partner.  

     Co-Sponsored with Affinity a Social Justice Conference. 

     Conducted five Eye to Eye Empowerment Sessions for Black Men.

     Advocated for victims of Anti Gay Hate Crimes.

     Participated in the Governor’s Summer Job Youth Program over 80 LGBTQA youth between ages of 13- 22 years of age.

     Organizing of Critical Caucus.

     Civic Responsibility registered over 200 new voters.

     Cultural Matters Noah’s Arc Chicago Premier and Reeling International LGBT Film Festival.

     Developed public education program in the African-American Black communities regarding Same Gender Loving Domestic Partnership and Gay Marriage legislation in Illinois.

     Participated in the local demonstration against Proposition 8.
